Veerabhadra
वीरभद्र
Veerabhadra is a fearsome avatar of Shiva, born from a lock of Shiva’s hair infused with rage and divine fury when Sati immolated herself in the sacrificial fire of Daksha's Yajna. Manifested to avenge the insult to Sati and destroy the ego and adharma of Daksha, Veerabhadra symbolizes righteous anger and the unstoppable force of cosmic justice.
To annihilate arrogance and adharma, punish Daksha for insulting Sati and Shiva, and restore divine order. Veerabhadra is also worshipped as a fierce protector and commander of Shiva’s army (Ganas).
Appearance: A colossal, dark-skinned warrior with flaming eyes, wearing a garland of skulls, wielding multiple weapons, his hair wild and flying, radiating pure fury. Often shown standing over Daksha’s decapitated body.
